Was offered a VP role in FS at alix partners 2 yrs ago. Offer of 140k base & felt comfortable saying total comp 160k. I passed but they came back saying it was negotiable. Should I have taken it?

I recently left my corporate paralegal role to return to a small personal injury firm. I was shocked to learn that the HITECH fee no longer applies if a client requests their medical records be sent to a third-party (e.g. attorney). Has anyone had any success modifying their HITECH request template for clients so there IS a fee limitation AND the records are sent directly to their attorney? Paying $100+ for hospital records is sickening.
