If you were to switch from full-time to freelance, what would you think the “ideal” age of you children would be? (I know, there’s never a good time...)

I quit my job to work for myself when my son was ten months old, it has been awesome. Doctors appointments, random daycare vacation days etc? Not a huge deal! That said, I wish we’d been in a place to buy a house first cause now we’re thinking about it and I’m worried about being able to get a mortgage as a self employed person.

Parenting becomes sooooo much easier in terms of scheduling once they can be left home alone/come home after school to an empty house. Where you live that age could be anywhere from 9-13. Or even younger depending on your kids.

I started freelancing in 2015 when my children were 3 and 5. I wish I had started sooner! I LOVE having the flexibility to drive them to/from school, go on class trips, meet up with other moms for coffee or lunch etc. It was harder when they were younger (having to coordinate with babysitters and a little more running around) but it was worth it to me. Now they’re both in school and it’s been a dream (ages 6 & 8).

I’m an ACD copy. Was a CD but “demoted” myself and have zero regrets!

I would think freelance is better when they’re younger and you need more flexibility/ want more options to wfh? Eg prior to going to school

Read your childrens’ diaries every week. That way you know if you’re not giving them enough privacy.

I’m in the middle of moving by myself. I’m job hunting, because I lost my last one. My relationship has basically imploded. I sleep a lot on a fucked up schedule because I’m depressed but I can’t afford help, and I only get it when insomnia gives me a break. I’m so done and over all of this. I have so many heavy regrets. Idk how to carry all of this.

Woman approaching 40, dated once, LTR once and heartbroken by 32 as I found the man in LTR was cheating on me. Shut my heart completely to ensure never give anyone the power to hurt me. I just wish I had someone to plant a good morning kiss, like simple things in life. Hard to share these feelings, hence confessing

Has anyone else talked to a doctor about stress while trying to conceive? I’ve been having a really hard time wanting a baby for the way my husband and I have been arguing or talking to each other. Do you think our anxiety or tension is because we have not been able to conceive?

Anyone else struggling with hormones / mood swings? I am almost 16 weeks and been having a real tough time lately, feeling really down and stressed about things. Sadly, causing tension between me and my partner as well as he cannot relate and seems preoccupied with business as usual. Trying to get out the funk and just telling myself it’s all the hormones.

Does anyone else get into this vicious cycle where you have things you need to get done and have plans later but you don’t get those things done because of procrastination and you super anxious about canceling and pleasing people and end up disappointing yourself

TLDR: Getting over your ex of 2.5 years ghosting you after they said they wanted to reconnect.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. The break up must’ve been like a 4-5 minute FaceTime because I was very distraught. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)
