If you work in a district that has cameras in classrooms, what has been your experience?

If you are a parent, how do/would you feel about surveillance in your child’s class?

I am rather confident in my district. I respect my admin and think (most of) their decisions are reasonable and fair. I do my job and strictly my job. I am not afraid of getting caught not working or doing something I’m not supposed to be doing. But, in general, how do you feel about constant surveillance in classrooms?

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

Hi I am a new teacher intern hired yesterday. I will be teaching second grade. School reopens on Aug 17. I do not have my own materials. I do not know what materials are there in my classroom. So I've been applying for jobs with various brands who are owned by the same parent company. They are all separate brands but owned by the same company. All my applications are under one login with the parent company's website. My question is, can HR and recruiters from the different brands see all my open applications (including those with the other brands) or just the ones that concern the brand they work for?

What are your experiences with blended learning in the classroom?

Our school uses Foss Kits for Science and I was told when students return, we will need to sanitize all items before and after each use. This doesn’t seem possible in a middle school setting where each period has a 4 minute break and 25 students in each period. What do you do in your classroom to minimize the amount of work needed to clean and sanitize items. I don’t want to short change the students’ hands-on experiences.

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!

How much parental leave does your company offer to employees? Please include location, size of company and type of business. We are a SaaS company in NYC with 60 employees. We give 16 weeks paid for “primary caregivers “ and 6 weeks for “secondary “ caregivers. I want to advocate for everyone to get at least 12 weeks.

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

I actually think this could be a whole separate class for students of all ages. Learning about conflict resolution, growing your own self-regulation skills...it's really important.
