As part of relocation,LTI is giving Rs. 4350 per person from base location (my previous company ofc location let’s say it location A) to ofc location (LTI Ofc let’s say it location B).
Since I’m in my hometown(let’s say it location C).
So can I book train from A to B & cancel it later and submit the booked bill to get it reimbursed as I have to anyway travel from C to B but LTI only reimburse if I travel from A to B?
Kind of fraud but is it allowed or bills are scrutinised and I may be at risk?

The company I work for (a data analytics consulting firm) was recently acquired by a larger firm. Based on sites like Glassdoor, their SWE are making almost double what I make. There is a lot of discussion about retention of employees, so should I expect my compensation to be adjusted? Should I mention this in my upcoming performance review if feedback is positive?

Why are there so many “full-stack” engineers that can’t write basic HTML and CSS?

How difficult is it to get a job in a language you don't have experience in? I have 7 years of experience in PHP and the job market doesn't seem to have a lot of openings. Lots of Python and Java though. I've applied to a number of these roles and haven't even gotten a phone screen.

I'm thinkin about landing a remote SWE job (leetcoding and building a portfolio this summer).
Have you got some advice? Is it possible to work for US remotely without visa? What other countries pay well? Is it possible to land a 100k$+ with this kind of experience and working from Italy?

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

Hi, I changed my job like 3 months ago, it was supposed to be a lead front end engineer position, but after and awful onboarding I’m just a regular dev in a project that is not yet live but requires a lot of refactor. I filed an ethics complaint in early June, and after going up the chain and calling out nothing was done on it, and I was being gaslighted/my personal life being used to show I am the problem in early October, I met with the execs in Ethics. The initial meeting, they gaslighted me, and then tone was better in the second meeting. Now 2-3 weeks later, General Counsel wants to see me. What should I do? Should I be worried? I have sought counsel outside of the company. This is huge fintech company.
