Make $120k Accenture now doing tech implementations, just got offer 200k TC EY business consulting. I love my job, have a great WLB (working 20 hours per week, no travel, clear path to M in about 1.5 years) - am I an idiot for even contemplating staying? What I would be doing is more PPT/functional vs Onestream/technical which I do now.

If you’re planning on doing an international flight next year, it might be. Also, $900 seems like a lot- you may be able to find cheaper mileage run if they have any fare sales going
Thanks for the tip, but I also need $834 for PQD
Upgrades need to be used on a ticket fare of W or higher. Also, in a lot of cases where it is not cleared automatically and you are waitlisted. Google on how to search for PZ inventory to confirm upgrades at booking
Polaris is true business class with life flat seats. Premium plus is like domestic first class, so wider seats and better type of meal. Premium plus is totally fine for flights to Europe, but Asia I would strongly recommend life flat seats for business class.
Same decision last year. the GPU got me into biz flying from New Zealand so was worth it
This is a borderline case. As I said in my earlier post, if you are going to take a trip to Asia or Australia (or even Europe, especially if you are on the West Coast) and complete that trip before January 31, 2021, then do it. Business class on those flights makes a huge difference). Book a transcontinental flight in the US for $900 and go see a friend for a day.
Not worth it. Unless you get upgraded all the time on your route You’re asking me for $1400 I’m not doing it
Adding on to M1, the W fare classes is not what most people would consider a cheap ticket. I was looking at a trip to Asia where the cheapest fare was about $1000 but the W fare class was double that.
This. Most people without experience with upgrade instruments just assume that they can buy any old ticket and automatically upgrade it. Not only does there have to be inventory, which is NOT the same as open seats, but you have to buy an expensive enough fare class. W fare class or higher as the previous two posters pointed out. I did this on a trip to Asia couple years ago, and the round-trip economy W fare class from LAX was $2600. I could’ve got the cheapest ticket at the time for about $1900. That said, buying the straight up business class round-trip ticket would have been something like $8000, and it made the trip much more enjoyable, but I had to obsessively plan the trip and the day I found the outbound ticket with inventory (was R inventory at the time, now PZ) I booked it same day. This stuff is complicated, but if we can develop a new channel strategy for Widgets, Inc., we can definitely do this.
Do it. It will give you the requisite time to contemplate the opportunity cost of working for such a trash employer.
Might be an unpopular opinion on here, but I don’t have a problem with my employer
I’m in this position now and going to fly that extra to re-obtain 1K because I plan to fly every week next year (out of pocket cuz i’m a supercommuter) and my biggest benefit to United 1K is actually the savings in the no change fee on same day changes. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone as its pretty risky but i know for my routes its almost always available but i buy flights all the time where its the cheapest in that day and then either standby or change to an available seat on another flight that same day, i save thousands over the course of the year if that makes sense.
