“So and so,
I am attaching the Ninja Memo for your review. This summarizes the fact that ninjas are legal but only in the context of Y. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
Regards,
Jane Doe”
Thank you both! Everything is new and scary as a first year haha I’m definitely overthinking things. It’s good to get a second opinion, though!
Name,
Attached is the memo you requested regarding <subject>. Through my research I found that <extremely brief two sentence summary of memo>. Please let me know what questions you have, or if I can clarify any point further.

I’ll buy you the beverage of your choice if you just include the Obama mic drop gif in the body, no other text 😆😆😆

I’m one of those people who always has like 4-5 drinks on my desk, that’s not actually a bad deal for me 🤣

Questions like this tempt me to start a “No Stupid (Legal) Questions” bowl. Being an attorney can be so confusing and overwhelming at times.

Done. Hopefully people will join! https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_4bdveh
Don’t forget to attach the cases that you cite with the cited portions highlighted!
I’m a 4th year and still take half an hour to write a simple email to the managing partner sometimes lol. Don’t sweat it kid
Echoing the above & adding if the person who requested the memo posed the issue as a question to you, answering the question in the body of the email is always helpful too. Best of luck! Stay thorough, it’s an excellent quality.
When my memo answers a vague or ambiguous question, I often add something along the lines of, “if this doesn’t fully answer the question you had in mind, or if my research raises any additional issues you’d like me to look into, I’ll be happy to supplement.”
Awwww poor little baby lawyer, soooo cute. In all seriousnes though , I would've been terrified if I started first year remote.
I do a little bullet summary in my emails like: “overall, I found x” and got feedback that it was really helpful!
You could try no subject, no body text, and see what happens !
But don't really do that.
