I'm a recent Human-Centred Design grad aiming for Product Design. Desperate for an offer, I applied broadly and landed a role as a startup's first Visual Communication Designer (4.2 LPA). It includes some UI/UX, but the title and focus are visual. Should I accept this for the experience, or redo my portfolio to target dedicated Product/UX roles? Is being the first hire in a 'Visual' role a good start for a UX career? Or should I strengthen my portfolio and try to get better offers?

I’ve worked 2 years at a non profit 501c 3 tech startup. When I started there were 6 employees we now have 22. I am considered a part of leadership and am a people manager in addition to my sales role. I am a high performer and last year got a 10% raise (which I asked for). This year I was offered 5%. I am going to counter but curious what anyone thinks I should ask for. I was thinking 8%.

I had 4-5 rounds of interview in Amazon in last 1.5 months, including bar raiser. I got a mail stating I am selected for position within 4 hours of my bar raiser round.
HR asked for a few documents like last 3 months payslips, ECTC etc. It's been 4 working days and that HR is not replying on my mail. It is fine or something is off track ? Any suggestions ?
Does they usually turn back after sending selection mail and asking for documents

I attended a client interview last week and was selected for the same. Now they are asking to join within a day or two. I'm having my mom's surgery this week. How to safely refuse to join this client project for at least 10 days. I can't take leave for 10 days.

Most of the companies look for JAVA full stack with Angular. And when we encountered with interviews we just got evaluated on JAVA 8, Spring Boot etc. If person having 10+ experience in which first 6-7 years working in Java 7 and since last few years working in Angular still they mentioned our primary is Java and angular good to have.

Being the curious, how could be all skills mentioned in resume would be current skill.

And then ask Java dev to work on angular and they mess up things.
