What are your thoughts on 100% remote opportunities for CD?

I am currently CD Director at a major consulting firm working 100% remote (Europe) but am planning to transition into a CD role at one of the large software companies (Microsoft, Amazon, Autodesk, Ansys, Dassault Systemes, PTC, Siemens). I noticed that most CD teams are based out of a single city (generally HQ location).

Do you believe it's possible for those companies to hire remote talent worldwide? If not, why?

I'm trying for a switch in a SDET role, but now my current company is offering me the role of a Product Manager. Can anyone share your thoughts on what should I do? Is SDET a better role or a PM as a point of career growth ?

I work for a global, top tier tech/consulting company. Have been there 5 years. I have my MBA. I moved from client delivery into HR role last year. I just received a zero increase to my salary. I am a high performer. I was expecting 2-3% merit . Salary is 93k. Need an honest outside perspective of what to do. I feel as though my loyalty & high performance count for nothing. Doing ops work at Apple, would it be worth it to go to MBB to get more generalist experience and eventually exit into a function I’d rather do? For context, I’m 27M with a TC of about 200K and another reason I’d consider leaving is RTO with very little flexibility at Apple.

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

I left my last job because I didn't appreciate the culture (B4). However, it was probably because I was a terrible employee. However, I do find that my clients love me 10x more than my consulting colleagues. I joined a smaller firm to cover up the problem.

I’ve spent 4 years in Big 4, with about half that time in FDD. I feel like Corp Dev is what I ultimately want, but am wondering if a stint in banking could be worth it. If I’m not interested in PE or other buyside alternatives, is the pit stop in IB worth it?
Mainly wonder if IB is a must have box to check, or if you can work your way up the ladder without.

I will be starting an FDD position in August right out of college. Do you think 3 years in this industry will provide enough relevant experience to make the switch to CD. I am also planning to get my CFA if that is at all relevant.

My experience is as follows: BIG4 Audit > FP&A (CPG) > CD analyst (1 year)

I like my role (sourcing, modelling and strategy integration), however I don't see myself working in this industry long term. Without a generalist IB background, are my chances of transitioning over to a different Industry low? If so, is there anything I can learn or do (excluding IB)?
