What are your thoughts on 100% remote opportunities for CD?

I am currently CD Director at a major consulting firm working 100% remote (Europe) but am planning to transition into a CD role at one of the large software companies (
Microsoft, Amazon, Autodesk, Ansys, Dassault Systemes, PTC, Siemens). I noticed that most CD teams are based out of a single city (generally HQ location).

Do you believe it's possible for those companies to hire remote talent worldwide? If not, why?

I meant hiring remote talent legally. In today's world, plenty of solutions exist for this (companies like Deel, Pilot or Remote). Similarly to hiring devs from India or Eastern Europe (as internal employees, not outsourced deals), I personally believe this should be possible for the CD function of large organizations. Thoughts? Specially when those organizations already have legal entities incorporated in those countries (but have mostly devs and SWE, not CD leaders).

I was thinking that barriers for this could be:
1) Strong culture on control over CD function (e.g., if CD folks are located near HQ, C-level has more control over the CD function). CD has generally been elitist and a prestigious function to get into (IVY leage talent-only type of thing). I believe this is flawed and driven by culturally-wrong misconceptions.
2) Confidentiality-driven risks: C-level wants to keep CD work highly confidential, specially at publicly-traded companies and avoid negative impact on brand because of potential insider-trading situations, etc. Similar to what happens in the Defense industry with nationalized foreign USA residents - not allowed to work in Defense even if they got the US nationality.
3) Lack of trust in remote teams productivity: probably also driven by old office-based culture but personally agree this has to change as well. Having a remote team allows you to work 24h a day across different time-zones, and allows you to hire the best talent worldwide not just in HQ location (highly unlikely talent in HQ is best-in-class in the industry, honestly)

Unfortunately not…

Probably not for tax reasons. Most of the time it’s illegal for me to work in a different country much less live there. Exceptions do exist but they are exceptions. I’m not sure about any of this, that’s my gut reaction based on my experience with tax law. Good luck! (I would stay in Europe if I was you)

Burned out in current role. 10-plus years post-MBA experience in Corp Fin role unable to move up to Director due to lack of "scope" - limited to no opps. Currently, work 40-50 hours week (minimal to no weekends) and earn ~250 TC. Work day is "intense" - many quick turnaround projects from task to task.

Is it worth shopping around? Can I get promo to Director level at another Tech company, earn more and still maintain same level of hours (limited weekend work)? Less intense days possible?

While giving the tech interview as well as while having the HR discussion, I mentioned my expected CTC as 9-10 LPA(CTC). I cleared the interview and uploaded all the documents in the portal yesterday. Today mrng all the document verification was completed. But when I got the call for offer discussion, she asked what u expect. I said 9-10 LPA. She questioned me that on what basis I am asking for this much hike. She offered me 6.3 LPA as CTC with 21% variable. 5.2 as basic. Rest part in comments..

Hello,
Can we get promotion after the mid year review in CitiusTech?
Or the promotion for the mid year already done?
I see for many people the designation has changed but for me it's not. I was under the impression that the promotion happens after the mid year discussion or after the year end discussion.
Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.
