We call downtown uptown.

These aren’t unique to Charlotte but are definitely different than New England
1) how to correctly pronounce Appalachian
2) BBQ is the food, cookout is the event (i.e., you don’t go to a BBQ, you eat BBQ at a cookout)
3) Uptown not Downtown
People are really nice down here...at least to your face. I can't count how many times my Ma said "bless your heart" but really that was only half the sentence
1. Our streets intersect with themselves (eg Queens and Queens) 😂😂😂
2. “Hornets nest of rebellion” hence the Hornets and the Meck Dec, which is still debated
3. I don’t think there are any distinctly CLT foods unless you count Bojangles? Or Cowfish?
4. Charlotte has a really amazing tree canopy, one of the largest percentages of canopy in the country
5. CLT started the OG gold rush, which is why a mint was here (hence the name Mint Museum)
And you can visit Reed Gold Mine, which is the original!
You can now find Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea in grocery stores

Not distinctly Charlotte but people say y’all in the South to refer to second person plural. Also like PWC said, how you say Appalachian.
OMG…finally someone else has heard of candlepin bowling…I swear people don’t believe me…lol…Boston born…Charlotte for the past 20…
