Protiviti is a non-big 4 so you can easily ask for a Level which is equivalent to Director at Deloitte, and they will accept it. But know this, sales there will be quite difficult as companies like these have lower cost due to not having a very good centralised knowledge and client referenceable database (unlike Deloitte).
Associate Director
What are you making now OP?
What practice/ sector are you in?
I joined Protiviti from Deloitte 2 years ago - there have been handful of weeks where I had to work more than 40 hours. At D, I was averaging 50-60 hours easily. The wlb is significantly better.
WLB will be better, but what is a lot? It’s also area dependent.
Would recommend coming in at AD. What type of work?
Define a lot. Pay is good for B4 but bonus structure and retirement is lower.
Hey interested to know what your pay is. What is base + bonus?
What is the salary and bonus range for an associate director at Protiviti
Chief
I'd like to work 90+ and get paid alot
IB associate here. No you don’t. Trust me.
If you’ve been an SM for a few years I would say ask to come in as a director. Just know you will have sales expectations and you’ll need to hit the ground running. If that sounds stressful, come in at associate director to give you time to land as sales expectations are lower / it’s easier to get staffed as an AD.
90+ hrs? I have trouble believing folks when they claim this. Even ibankers and mbb folks spend some of that time twiddling their thumbs or doing personal things when they’re online.
Just do the math and it doesn’t pan out.
Let’s say you’re doing 95 hrs. That’s 13.5 hrs over the course of 7 days. 168 hrs - 95 = 73 hrs left
Sleep 7 hrs x 7 = 49 hrs
Eating breakfast lunch dinner 1.5 hrs = 10.5 hrs
Shower/getting dressed 30 min - 1 hr = 7 hrs
Laundry/picking up dry cleaning - 1 hr a week
Grocery shopping - 1 hr a week
=68.5
73-68.5 = 4.5 hrs left over in the week
Gym
Doctor appts
Planning vacations
Buying anything online or in person.
Transit time for personal or work related
If you have kids, there’s quite a bit of time that they need as well.
