I am 25 years old. Worked as a Tax consultant in International tax for a year. Later shifted to VAT and worked there for another year. Now I am thinking to join M&A. While one side I am glad that I am trying something new and having a diverse experience but again I feel I am becoming Jack of all and Master of None. Any advice is appreciated

How did you know you wanted to exit to PE (given that recruiting happens <1 year into consulting life)? I am interested in recruiting but really can't tell if I would prefer it to consulting

Any thoughts on changing fields of law? I have been actively networking and trying to get a position with an admiralty and maritime law firm. This is a niche field of law and it has been really difficult to break into (almost no job postings and everyone knows each other)any suggestions?

1st year experienced associate. Not crazy about the job and am considering exit opportunities into FP&A. When is it too late/too early to leave? Don’t want to become pigeonholed to accounting. Have no FP&A experience, but a bachelors and masters in accounting along with a CPA.

I am an associate at a small firm and was licensed last fall. I clerked at this firm through law school, so I knew most of the partners before starting as an attorney full time, except some of the new ones we have acquired since. I have several cases that I am the only responsible attorney on and quite frankly, feel like I have no clue what I’m doing half the time. I ask questions, but feel like I’m being a nuisance if I ask too many. I guess I didn’t expect to be solely (cont. in comments)

I have around 2.5 years of experience in a boutique consulting firm and am contemplating between PE vs generalist role. Around 60% of the projects I have done are in PE practice in my current firm so not sure if I am eligible to apply for PIPE/PEPI.

How long does it take to prep for a McKinsey interview for BA role? I've been told 2 months but isn't that too much? I had a heads up that I will be receiving a call later this week to plan an interview, and I feel like I will have limited time to prep.

Question to MBB interviewers. I have a couple of interviews coming up and want to understand the process better and manage my own expectations. Could you please share your personal experience: 1/ what % of interviewees are obviously not a good fit - when after the chat you just know that they are wrong for consulting 2/ % made major mistakes in case 3/ what % are kind ok w case and fit, but are not good enough 4/% that are good enough (with minor flaws) 5/ great and you know that they will fit

What is fastest way to improve both structured communication and thinking? Any helpful books or drills?
It’s the one consistent feedback I get while casing , “to be more structured” I’m there for math ability , business logic , creativity.

What are Bain cases like? Interviewee-led like BCG and OW or different?
