Boutique firms are an option but this is dependent on where you’re located as they tend to not be as spread out and global like Big 4.

What are some example top boutique firms? And what makes them so attractive?
I would wait until you get promoted to senior, then at least get 1 year of experience. If you have a niche of experience in Cyber, there are usually a couple consulting firms outside of B4 that will specialize in that specific category
What type of cyber consulting are you doing? DFIR? Pentesting? How many years of experience will determine your path.
You should wait for Senior, for sure.
But there are a lot of regional boutiques out there, like NetSpi. Additionally lots of cyber tech companies that have a prof serv division, like Crowdstrike. Although they often just immediately want experts, not to train up people, but sometimes you'll find entry level or low senior roles. You can look at start ups too.
But you're so close to Senior and it's effectively an automatic promotion, just stick it out awhile longer
That's fair but we're only talking about, what, 12 months max? Certainly if it took more time, or if it wasn't guaranteed, I'd say just jump. But staff 2 -> senior is such a quick and easy jump.
Honestly, they'll probably be forced to do this even if unintentionally, due to the job market right now. They may not even get an offer till they make Senior, market may make the decision for them. No harm in trying though
Have you considered professional services at VAR’s or vendors ?
