I’m about half-way through the interview process with a hedge fund and am looking for advice. I currently work on the sell side in equity research with 1 year in my current role and coming up on 6 total YOE. I’ve done 2 rounds of interviews and we’ve talked about comp numbers at a high level. If I progress to the offer stage, he said I would get “points” in the fund. How common is this in hedge fund offers for newer team members? The fund has ~$300M AUM and has beat their index each year.

Got a verbal confirmation for an offer from recruiter. Now she is negotiating my pay with the compensation team instead of me. I thought I had to do the negotiations with that team? This is for a L3 role at google canada. To the fellow googlers, is this normal practice or am I being lowballed here?

26 YO, make make roughly 130k TC and really wanting to get the new 2022 Accord Hybrid Touring trim. Great MPG and reliability. MSRP is just under 40k for the top trim. Good financial move or should I go with a lower trim such as the EXL or Sport which come in around the mid 20k-low 30k area.

Got a call from the resource management team to relocate, which I rejected upfront as I was promised a role in the location I am posted. It has been over 2 weeks since I am in bench. What shall be the next steps, shall I wait for some days or start looking for other jobs as getting a project looks difficult as there are minimalist responses.

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. He also exhibits stalker like behavior by looking up my family online (addresses, emails, phone numbers, FB/Twitter accounts, you name it) and driving by my house and commenting on things I was doing during the weekend or after work.
