Im coming up at 5 yoe in total at big4 Salesforce consulting. Is it a good idea for me to exit into a Sr. Admin role? Is it a good idea this early in my career and is there growth? Or should I wait for more time

Looking to pivot out of a top pharma marketing/ad agency and into consulting. Ultimately want to leverage both experiences to move client side or to a healthcare start up.

What are the best firms for this type of transition and why?

Thermo Fisher for Data Engineer in AWS and Python and Ameriprise as Lead Developer for Informatica Powercenter. Ameriprise is offering 50k more in my monthly salary than Thermo Fisher. My preference is to join in where I can grow and get a good learning for future career growth. Also, work life balance should be good in the organization.

I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales.
