For people who have left FAANG/looking to leave, for what reason?

I am an Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator with 15+ years of experience. I have program management and pharmaceutical manufacturing experience that gives me additional unique experience. I am wanting to get into the Clinical Trial Management/ Research Management role and am having no luck. Currently working for UW in Seattle. Pay is stagnant, grossly understaffed, commute is terrible, but the benefits are great. Any suggestions on CTO that offers great benefits and competitive salary?

What do you think about switching tech stacks vs becoming an expert in one stack? I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. I don't know whether I should explore other tech stacks while I'm young, or instead focus on becoming a Java expert, given that I enjoy working in Java.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

Has anyone signed a contract to work for X amount of years with the government and then broken that contract? Are there repercussions? The contract was two sentences that said I would work for X years. That’s it. I cannot find any information online about what happens if you hate your new job so much that you quit. Anyone?

Peers tell me to do a MS in Software Engineering or Data Science at an Ivy instead, claiming that route is cheaper & employs more into tech. I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
