I’m considering investing in a vacation / rental property in Spain. Does any one have information or experience if this is a good idea and feasibility, and maybe unexpected considerations? For context, based in UK, but no EU citizenship.

I’ve heard Portugal is easier than Spain in terms of rental properties and being able to stay long term. I guess it depends on the hoops you have to jump through and what you’re looking for.

Based on the Gross salary offered I have calculated the in hand salary per month would be around 152000 considering 150000 in 80C, 50000 in NPS and 200000 deductions due to home loan interest. Total tax liability is around 400000. Any other options do I have to save tax further (other than HRA, LTA)? Thanks in advance.

I grew up poor and was obsessed w financial security. After investing my blood, sweat and tears into my career for years, I’ve decided I don’t care about my career or earnings as long as I have enough to support my family. We are happier than ever making less and saving little. I wasn’t there when my mom was sick and died because I was working and my employer didn’t allow me to be in a mental headspace to be a good person for my family. I can never change that but I can be better going forward.

Is the HRA and house rent factor in salary are the same.

And LTA is depend on HRA amount.

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. It’s a myth that renting is “throwing money away.” Maintenance of a property is expensive! I’m selling my place and I’ve never felt more free. I can use that money (~$5000/month) to invest even more.
