Anyone out here?
I’ve worked in data analytics consulting for over 6 years. Recently got an offer from a Tech firm after over a year of interview prep. I’m nervous cuz analytics consulting is VERY different from a product based company, and my only prep is for data science interviews, not any actual on the job experience. Any tips on how to be strengthen my technical skill set? Airbnb

What kind of work do you want to do? What kind of work do you do now? If you do econometrics, structural equation modeling, etc in your masters you'll likely be more mathematically sophisticated than many grads of DS programs. The DS program may leave you in a better position for industry tooling, data viz, data engineering. DS is a very broad field but you need to be good at stats or a good software engineer to get your start. The unicorn role where you do it all is seldom a hire right out of school position. A master's might get you an interview but experience gets you the job. Some DS programs are good but the zero to hero type curriculums where you start from complete scratch are necessarily limited in scope. Strong grads will get jobs but many will flounder. There are a lot of programs promising an interesting and well paying career and the truth is you need more than the piece of paper.
This is helpful. I currently work in analytics implementation so more on the business side with decent experience with python and sql. Im interested in moving into ML model development though which is outside of my current role.
