That finance and the hiring team (talent team, manager, whoever) are taking forever / busy
Which is perfectly fine for them but is waiting this out a bad reflection on me? Like I don’t have other options? Which I do but I just really want this job over the rest.
... a decision will be made soon. Latest response was basically I’m the candidate they want but to give them a bit more time. What should I make of this whole situation?
Have you mentioned the other options? Any concrete offers to use as leverage? If so, say: this is still my first choice however I have other opportunities available and would like to make a decision sooner rather than later.
There’s whole lot more red tape than one would imagine in getting hired. So many signatures needed. It could boil down to something as simple as someone being out on vacation and not able to sign something or one persons interview having to be rescheduled. I waited for a response for 3 weeks once, come the 4th week they finally apologized and told me that the job was mine and not to accept if I thought I was out of the running. People were OOO and all paperwork couldn’t be completed so an official offer could be extended.
