I’m currently a 2nd year associate in commercial finance. I’ve realized I don’t enjoy a a strictly transactional practice. I enjoyed litigation matters as a summer (particularly the adversarial nature). Also, love talking and advising clients. I don’t want the litigation lifestyle and appreciate the in-house opportunities of transactional. Assuming that I could switch (or lateral), I’m thinking I may enjoy employment (and the ability to defend and train/advise). I appreciate any insight.

Just got a job offer with CVS. To say the least I’m super excited to work for an Fortune 5 company. However, the job offer 1k less than my current company, but I thought this will be boost my growth and experience. Was my choices a smart move? Do you all feel that the Health Insurance choice is actually all the same? The coverage is absolutely copy and paste for Bronze to Platinum and the deductible/copay is very similar.
I just don’t understand why we have the illusion of “choice” if the offer is the same and it is really bad (in our case).
Going from $61 per paycheck for 2.5k deductible 75% copay to $500+ per paycheck with 500 deductible 85% copay.

To the lender counsel that forgot to mention they needed original signature pages for a deal that closed early this year and decided to chase and harass me a day before thanksgiving and a day after thanksgiving multiple times. F*ck you. I don’t know what is driving your lack of courtesy but I have represented the same bank before and know their usual original signature requirement.

I applied for a lateral job in a growing group that doesn’t have associates yet. Should I complain to a firm's HR if the interviewers laughed at my answer during an interview? Maybe it sounded scripted but it was still heartfelt and genuine: my immigration story and how that made me appreciate the rule of law. I said it soo many times during OCI's that maybe it eventually sounded robotic, but for the interviewers to laugh and one to say sarcastically "nice elevator pitch", I thought was rude. Thoughts?

Someone needs to explain to me why I need to urgently (like yesterday) explain a matter to the people running the specific part of the deal (noting to them that OC’s request is nonsense because Y) only to be copied two days later - “my colleague X will provide”.

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)
