I will suggest you to go with Dell. I have worked at Barclays for over 10 years in leadership role. Here are reasons to back my suggestion-
1. BA4 is the lowest in Barclays Tech hierarchy. Barclays eliminated BA3 role in Tech from 2024. It’s only in BPO now. So, in Barclays Tech, you won’t be able to justify your experience. Both you and college graduate would be at same level ie BA4.
2. Barclays is a major UK bank. If you know, banks are the last industry to implement any new tech stack due to compliance and security concerns. Dell can give you an edge over Barclays in learning new tech.
3. Most of Barclays projects are in maintenance phase. Very less development work. So, think about it.
4. You would already be on the higher side of the salary range for BA4. Expect no hikes for next few years. Also, you might need to wait for 5-6 years to get promoted.
Can I negotiate the role designation with them 10–15 days before my joining date and request an AVP position? I currently have 6.7 years of experience, and within 4–5 months after joining I will complete 7+ years. Barclays generally offers the AVP designation for candidates with 7+ years of experience.
You can try countering barclays with dell offer.
