Anyone hiring for a paid acquisition marketer? 👀
AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Job searching can be so draining, especially when you feel like you're doing everything right and still not getting responses. Don’t lose hope—keep refining and tailoring your approach, but also take breaks to recharge. Sometimes the right opportunity takes time to find! And don't forget to network a LOT!
I only focus on knowing I still have valuable skills and experience to offer...... not in being"old" which is not in my vocabulary!
Completely agree with M1. In fact, at this point, maybe you don’t tinker with the resume for a month. There must be enough versions. Put that effort into networking, talking to friends, former colleagues, former classmates, your school’s talent org, etc.
I will
Thank you very much 🙏
I understand what you're going through and I'm going through the same thing too I spent the last 3 months now, day in and day out; on four different platforms looking for a job and have not but, three people call me back out of 756 apps I put in. And the sad part about the three people who called me the job that they were offering me is not what I was looking for.... Hopefully things change soon since we have a new president in office
... We will see...
What worked for me, was to find the day filter and filter jobs that were posted in the past 1-2 days. Some recruiters will look at applicants at a first come first served basis. LinkedIn has that feature and the jobs that I applied to, I was able to get some responses.
This time of year and August/September are surge points for job openings, as well.
Thank you for sharing 🙏
I will keep trying
It's a numbers game...as a data analyst, this I'm sure you can appreciate. You have to keep in mind that, at least in tech/software, a solid 30%-40%+ of those postings are ghost jobs; recruiters posturing to test out new platforms, job desriptions, or simply to scoop up resumes for future reference. The remaining (real) positions are getting hammered by hundereds, sometimes thousands, of real and fake applications the second they're live. You should optimistically expect a 2% (give or take) "hit rate," i.e. responses from real humans that are interested in talking to you about the position for which you applied. Add to this there's about a 2-3 week half life on those applications; that is, you can't count them as "dead" for 2-3 weeks...all these details point to volume, volume, volume. How may targeted job sumbissions are you making each day? 2, 3? It should be 10, 20 on an average day. On a great day? 30-40. Linkedin, Indeed, Dice, Trueup, ziprecruiter, Otta/welcometothejungle.com...you should be scanning all of them first thing, making a list of the new jobs you can hit, then targeting a resume and cover letter for each.
To be clear, I'm not just pulling these numbers out of thin air; I've been looking around for something new for a while and, in the process, have sent out nearly 1k applications (in two waves, Q42023/Q12024 and Q42024/Q12025). It is from that sample that I'm drawing the above stats.
Keep your head up. Self talk is important now. Listen to a podcast for help - I like “Mindset Mentor” but there’s plenty of them.

I feel the same way like what am I supposed to be doing as a cyber analyst? What does that even mean anymore
🤦 Everything will be fine
Let be hopeful!
Rather than looking for employment it is better to start your own business.
Imposter syndrome is what, exactly?
Hlo sir m working before 2019 to till date same company attard bros malta construction I fine now new job
Also look a bit at adjacent roles that might be of interest.
As mentioned before don't spend all your time on fixing the CV.
Instead you can channel your time into taking a course or doing an educational project in areas where you think you might be loosing to the competition. Make sure to document everything in Github and brag about it on LinkedIn for increased visibility.
Have you ever thought of looking for job opportunities in Africa? If you are white and you are open to working in Africa, it will take you less than 3 months to land a good job in Africa. Many investors are channeling their resources to Africa in the form of setting up companies and financing NGOs. However, Africa still has a wide skills and expertise gap to adequately manage these resources.
