Tata Consultancy Services made a revenue of $25B last FY. This translates to roughly 194546Crores. As per reports Rajesh Gopinathan, our beloved CEO saw a bump of 26.6% on his remuneration which sums up to 25.77 CPA. TCS saw a record breaking YOY revenue which was from $22B to $25B. Now without complaining or starting a feud, lets start on a healthy discussion about what & how TCS could have done better this year for their front end employees who indeed lead to the revenue every year!
What is project specific BGC in TCS?

I think it’s a fair convo, make sure to speak about WHY you deserve an increase and not just that your making less than certain people.
At the same time don’t get defensive or lash out at them if they are unable to immediately boost your salary. As a manager I often have 0 control over getting someone a raise or promoted even if I pushed for it.
It’s totally fair to show market info and show that you are underpaid vs. a mid point. If you are actually performing above average then you should be paid above the midpoint. If they string you along for more that 6 months, prepare the get a counter offer and/or leave for somewhere else that will pay what you are worth.
you have to be super honest about it. personally i have left jobs that were unwilling to meet me on salary and i’ve benefited from it, both from experience and comp. most directors/vps don’t have the power to increase salary significantly without a big promo, whereas a new role is (hopefully) excited to have you and is more likely to be flexible for your needs. depends what’s important to you
Growth and salary should go hand in hand but don't always do. When you come into the conversation have your talking points set. You have to illustrate what work you've done, major accomplishments that would justify a jump in salary. Not a had a flawless budget, but real business changing ideas
If you are 15% below average is that due to the companies pay scale? Are you a new supervisor? You have to be ready for push back. If you are saying that you are 15% below, it is unlikely that they can get you that level of a raise. Think about what you would be willing to accept. If you are more senior in the role, how close are you to AMD, and could that promotion be made.
