OP, probably two reasons. People care more about things closer to elections. It’s when people have more power over their politicians. As a result, news coverage of events rose and efforts trying to get publicity also rise.

Or this just proves the Illuminati is real. You can’t change my mind.
Thanks for uncovering George Soros plan bro. We owe you one.
😂 also your sample is 2 points. Don’t need to be a DS to figure that one out.
It is the same phrase though over time. It looks like a lot of data tbh.
According to this statistic and your post, George Floyd’s death was planned?
EY1 and of the 9, I think all but one of them charged at police or physically fought them. What would you do? Let’s see - should you pause, reflect and ask the offender to pray with you, should you allow them to beat you to death for fear of being charged for manslaughter, should you run away and hope to get away, or should you defend your life with the weapon you are legally trained to use? What would you do? And man do I love that you admitted to exaggerating. That’s consistent with this entire narrative. Facts are useless!

BLM being used as a turnout vehicle, especially in down ballot races, people trying to understand an issue?

I don't think IRA is driving a majority of Google searches, but not inconceivable to imagine disinformation causing people to search things up.
His name was Philando Castile....

Why would you go to a data scientist when the visualization is already complete? Lol

I kinda think about data scientist as journalists, know their craft really well and can have strong conversations about an array of topics but for the most part shouldn't be the people forming expert opinions. Is that accurate?
Just ask because all of the finance data scientists I see on LinkedIn have pretty evident gaps in finance knowledge.

It actually makes perfect sense that activists want to mobilize voters before the elections. It's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. Bringing more people in cant be bothering anyone. We should aim for 100% voter participation. Cornerstone of democracy
Two points are not a trend.
Smart.

The cops like to shoot people before elections
Causation vs correlation. Also you dont have enough data to show that independent variable has any statistical significance in relation to your dependent variable. I bet if we look at a regression analysis between the unwarranted killing of Black people and the prominence of BLM we would see a statistically significant p-value. Funny that you brought this up though because i just got access to twitters api for personal use so i am actually curious to see how long after each murder of a Black person the BLM tag is used and to what extent. I really hope America doesn’t take their foot of the gas.
