I’m interviewing for a job I know I’m overqualified for but I was recommended so they’re giving me a shot. I need to work is the honest truth. How do navigate this without sounding desperate?

That is hard and never really been in that position, usually I’m trying to make myself sound qualified enough. I would consider just trying to stay within what that specific job expects, try to limit your talking points on that and not all the other things you have experience in or have done before. No more, no less kind of approach.

If I sourced a creative team, sold the hiring managers on taking a chance on them and they get hired and that team ends up creating huge award-winning work, do I get to use that as a cont..

Hi! I’m currently a Sr. Recruiter at an Agency, looking for a better opportunity in NJ. I have a B.S. in HR Management, 3.5 total years in Recruiting/HR. I have experience recruiting for various industries, and across board for different levels (entry, supervisor, manager, director, cfo). I’m seeking hybrid or on-site positions at this time - any leads or reach outs are appreciated!

I got an offer at Meta as a 3-mo contingent CSM that pays 2x what I make now.

Two pros: 1) Making the jump from a non-tech agency role to FAANG can be tough, so this is a great oppo in that aspect.
2) I'm living in SF on a non-tech salary, so the pay increase would be incredible.

It’s possible I could move into a similar role @ Meta once this expires, but to be safe, I'd need to start the job hunt again asap.

Thoughts on the pivot & how valuable a short-stint at Meta is for future job hunt?

Is it bad manners or just a bad idea to go back to a recruiter if they got you a job that wound up being a bad fit?
For context, I don’t think they misled me. The job changed 3 weeks after I got hired, and got stuck in a role that’s just not a good fit. Gave it 6 months of honest effort and I’m ready to start job hunting.
I saw this recruiter make a post on LinkedIn, and I liked working with them the first time, and I want to reach out. But I don’t know what they’ll think.
