If you’re a guy, join the club - if you got any suggestions, please send my way too! The one thing I am so bad at.
If you’re a girl, hello!!
I’m a guy and yes I’ll send over any suggestions I come across.
I'm a M and some of the things I used to structure my profile were:
1. Pictures:
a) Put the maximum number of pictures the apps allow you to.
b) Make sure they're all high resolution, mostly individual pictures.
c) Include a few pictures that display an activity or hobby that you're into e.g., a scuba diving or a marathon finishing picture.
d) While the world is not perfect, physical attraction is generally one of the primary factors that people judge you on in the apps so if you don't have any good pictures, I would actually invest some time in taking some during your next hike or outing.
2. Bio:
a) There're different schools of thought on this, I usually prefer brevity and something that is either funny about your personality or something you can actually strike a conversation with.
b) If you're a F, having a bio that tells your interests may help you get conversation starters that aren't terrible such as 'Hey'. I'm not the best person to give you insights on this but this was just my thought process being a M.
c) If you're a M, then similar to the above, something funny about your personality is generally what I go for. The way I think about it, you're almost always going to be the person starting the conversation, your bio should help the other person try to carry the conversation.
3. Prompts
a) Some applications such as Hinge or Bumble enable you to answer question prompts.
b) I would answer at least three of them to give a better idea of who you are as an individual and also enable people to like your profile based on who you are and not just how you look.
c) They're also great in helping carry the conversation forward.
These are the views of a 24 M and structuring your profile may be different for people with different gender identies / sexual orientation and across different age groups. Curious to get everyone else's thoughts on how they've done theirs!
Thanks! This is very informative... now I just gotta find/get some new pictures of myself.
It’s honestly exhausting making your whole profile on these things lol. My profiles are always so lame 😂
