I’m on my first M&A Hr/ org design project and am feeling overwhelmed by the org structure, names, and changes to be made. Appreciate any advice on how to be more prepared!

I can relate as have led a few M&A&D technology work streams. Not the same as org redesign, and people side but a common theme probably is ambiguity. My strategy has been to deep dive as much as possible upfront, to both understand the business, tech landscape and most important ... who is who, i.e. who can I and my team go to for what.

Don’t worry about names to start. First question you have to ask yourself is what are the boxes (I.e., roles) and number of each type of role your need to accomplish the work. Only once you have figured that out do you start thinking about people.

Get org maps from both companies and create a blueprint. Square 1 is to understand what you have to work with. Your company might have an accelerator tool or plenty of templates to start the org design process. You can do it!

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!

Or should I continue down the field path and wait until those field management slots open up?

hi all, currently have two offers:

1: EY - FDD, home city, very good $$ for FDD

2: PwC - post-merger integration, DDV team (essentially M&A Consulting) - bigger city, always been keen to move

Coming as a Senior in Audit, with recent FDD exposure (2 deals, obviously not much). I was looking for something more than just number crunching, wanting a mix of quant / quali / strategic work. M&A Advisory or a Corp Strategy role is where I'm looking to end up long term.

Thanks in advance!
