I'm out of the office for a few days next week and my team is meeting to talk about some deliverable whose timelines are so tight that my honest recommendation is to hold until next month. I don't know if they will decide to go ahead and if so, most of the work will be on my shoulders and will need to execute at max speed:( I want to enjoy my time off, what do I do? go to the meeting? or find out a few days later

Will your voice matter? I say that as nicely as possible - but looks like you’re a consultant and the decision likely sits with an SM or PMD. You should tell them in advance your concerns.

But if the timeline is that tight - how do you hold til next month?

like

Because it is not possible to deliver after 2nd week of Dec. I told them before logging off on Friday but someone else in the team pushed (I don't think it's possible to finish in time despite this update) we have many open dependencies and the holidays next week make it virtually impossible to align with required stakeholders

Join the meeting or stand to be rail roaded. Why not try asking for extra support - another analyst vs shifting the deadline

Assuming everyone knows you’re off, I wouldn’t call in.

hiya fishes. happy friday! sorry if this isnt the right bowl, but this is in regards to vacation time. i have an interview process starting next week, and wondering when it would be good to mention i would be OOO between the middle of the month in september? its for a week. im unsure if i can twist this to have a start date once im back. going back and forth on being transparent vs. mentioning it later on. thoughts?

Studies show, Friday pizza parties are better than vacation.

Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?

I hear DOJ said their individual components will decide when exactly to return between mid-March and early May and some are offering a lot of remote flexibility even after then.
