I’m so tired of having to convince strangers I’m good at my job. I kicked ass at a major agency for 10 years and got laid off. It feels like my time there meant nothing and I’m starting over from scratch.

No question. Just exhausted and frustrated and sad.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

Hi, i have been laid off by publicis sapient & my LWD was at 30dec, 2022. I got a job within 15 days and asked ps to prepone my LWD to 30nov, 2022. During the layoff meeting they said I will get salary till 30th dec, even of i leave early with bonus of 5% of my total compensation and leave encashment money also. With all this I am supposed to get approx 2 lakh. But I got 56k today. I am not sure if it is the F&f settlement or not. Can anyone help?

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

Has anyone been fired and then subsequently received unemployment? I was let go this week and am wondering if that is realistic to expect. Thanks!

Recently laid off from a top 10 firm in LA after 7 years in PA. I’d been with the firm since college but now not sure whether i want to try and get back to PA or pivot to private or something else. Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?
