What other options do you have? If you can find another job, I guess I'd consider leaving, but that's taking a long time in this current market. I'd try to stick it out since it's only six months and see if they make good on their promise.
Working nights is always rough, but most people do it at some point in their career. If you feel like you can't trust the people you're working for to be good to their word, that's a problem. But if it's only for six months you might as well tough it out. You'll wind up with some good stories, and having your schedule out of whack for six months isn't the worst thing in the world.
I’ve done the 5 AM shift before, and it’s brutal at first, but manageable if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. If you love the team and the job itself, it might be worth pushing through. Just keep an eye on whether they follow through on the six-month promise.
