Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

It’s time to change out of your pajamas and go to the office.
Not sure if your title is correct (mines not) but if you truly are associate level it’s probably going to be a harder sell to be remote.
I’m remote now but I’m a SM on a team I have a history with that let me stay coded to them when I moved to a different state. I also worked B4 primarily remote.. did go to the office during a peak busy week or two and went to the client site occasionally - but I was on a specialty national team that had no other members in my local office so no one really cared if I was there. That was at a manager level also.
It’s a bit harder when you’re new to your career because you don’t have the history or experience that will speak for itself.
I work from home (fully remote) and work for a large firm. Have to travel to clients via plane at times. And have to go to the office every once in a while. But most weeks it’s 5 days at home. I will say it’s hard to achieve this and be successful at it. Also - it can be limiting, meaning that promotions are hard to get while remote.
It’s much easier to land fully remote positions once you reach the manager level.
Not for a staff or senior. You are stuck taking a shower and communting, or working on a crappy company on a craply role. There are exceptions of course, but that is a good general rule bud,
It’s gonna be tough at your level even if you land it, to advance and get promoted. You need face time.
