I’ve been doing some baking on the side. Summer is all wedding season, cookie favors and small treats, I’m not quite to making an entire cake status! Then fall/winter are holiday themes. Business used to be pretty good, but everyone is kind of struggling financially so not a lot of extra money to spend on my stuff!
I flip on ebay and I'm seeing the same thing. When people are as broke as they are right now, no one wants to spend money on unnecessary items. Reasonably so, but it makes having a side hustle more frustrating.
I nanny on weekends and also pick up some dog walking gigs. It's not a lot of money, but it's about $350 a month, and it really helps me with certain monthly payments.
It's really tough. I'm a freelancer which helps because I work completely remote and make my own schedule. I use my free time to flip items on ebay and all the money I earn from that goes to my student loan. It's no way to live to make everything about work like this, but what other option is there.
