I have family members who are inside claims reps for a large company. The company sends out emails 4 times/day showing who is currently not available for calls. To everyone working in claims in the entire country! It’s been a minute since I worked in claims. And never for this particular company. But is this shaming the new way to manage WFH.? Sounds at least toxic.

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

Partners - Do you ever take vacations?

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

Does anyone recommend working in high pressure better salary(WFH IC Engineer role in a relatively big Financial services firm, but working hands of on many things that builds pressure) vs

job 2 or atleast offer (Senior Manager 3 days a months in office( Banking firm) minimum, people manager for 24/7 infra operations teams and new project)taking a salary cut of 8k in base and with better WLb( hr) says so in interview. I am too confused. On job security we all know we can't guarantee anything.

I’ve been saving a lot of money, but I don’t have any friends out here in suburbia. I’m only 25, no student loans, and kind of want to live the city life and make some friends, but I’m hesitant because this high savings rate is really nice and my project at work would be remote even without covid, so I don’t HAVE to move out anytime soon

After nearly a year WFH and being with my family 24/7, I’m not entirely sure we actually like each other. Or maybe they don’t like me being at home. Or they don’t like me. Probably the latter 😞

Hi all, my H1B got approved today and I am waiting on the actual physical notice. In parallel I have a L2 EAD extension request in process. My H1B is valid from oct 1 only. Can I withdraw my L2 tomorrow? Is it okie if I am out of status for nine days? I am worried that the L2 will get approved. If it does get approved, what do I do?

Ok. I am teaching music in person and when we have a case of COVID in the school, I push into the classroom for 10 days. I was told today with 5 minutes to prepare that we had a case, I couldn’t teach in my room and I couldn’t do the ukulele unit I had planned. I had to think on the fly and quickly came up with a BrainPop for them. I’d like to find a few more music sites.
