Hi all, any CDD openings with your firm?
Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Some companies are using AI as the first level of screening. What you might try is reading the job description and tailoring your resume to match the verbiage in the Job Requirements as posted. Meaning: If you have the skills that are required as mentioned in the Job Posting, make sure your resume lists those skills using the same verbiage as you see in the Job Requirements.. There are usually Key words AI is set up to look for.
Which is funny and ironic, because by using AI to look for candidates, recruiters are inadvertently turning themselves redundant by teaching the machine how to do their job :D
Yes a lot of places are using ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and AI resume screening tools for applications now to look for specific things in peoples resumes. But you can actually use AI’s like ChatGPT to help you get around this though or at least increase your chances of it choosing your resume to get through to an actual person.
Go to the AI you like best and ask it to help you make an AI-optimized resume, tell it the exact job title and employer (if you have one) or the type of job you’re applying for. Then share the job description or posting text (or just paste the important requirements/qualifications). If you have one already, provide your current resume (or if not then provide, at least, your experience, education, certifications, and skills in plain text). Finally, ask it to rewrite or restructure your resume so it:
1) Uses the keywords from the job posting (without keyword stuffing).
2) Matches the skills and qualifications the employer highlights.
3) Is ATS-friendly (simple formatting, no images/tables that confuse scanners).
4) Shows measurable impact (numbers, outcomes, improvements) where possible.
Jobs are the same way where I live right now and I think it’s like that all over the US right now honestly, but this is exactly what I did and on day 1 of my job search using my new AI-Optimized resume built from my original resume I applied to 10 jobs, by day 2 I had received texts, emails and calls from 9 out of the 10 places asking to set up an interview. Some of those texts were automated but with some of those I also received an additional 1-2 texts or emails (one automated and one from an actual recruiter or hr manager/director). All interviews I actually went through with setting up (I couldn’t go to all of them as quickly as they wanted me to) were real and wanted to see me within 1-2 days after I put in the initial application, on the same day as the interviews, I got multiple offers from those and was able to accept a job with one of them. I know how insanely hard it is for everyone to find jobs right now as I struggled for monthsss looking for one before I tried this (a professional resume maker told me what to do). So I’m posting this in no way shape or form to be “bragging” or anything like that, because as I said I also struggled for months and know it’s not easy, but in hoping this can help people secure a job as quickly as possible. It’s rough out here and we all need all the help we can get. I really hope this info helps somebody here out as much as it did me. Because it can’t be a coincidence that for months I had what was happening to you, happening to me, then on the first day of using this new resume to apply I get actual interview requests and job offers after those interviews from 90% of the places… that’s too much of a coincidence for me ignore. I can’t promise it will work for everyone or work that quickly, but it’s definitely worth trying, that’s what I told myself because atp what did I have to lose, right?
You need to network and work with recruiters. Don't apply.
For me this. Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn and other similar platforms are fake having nothing solid in them.
You are not alone. It’s brutal out there.
I noticed after applying for a job, I call the next day to either speak to the hiring manager or whoever is in charge of hiring. Once I have them on the phone I tell them I applied and I would like to set up an interview. This makes you stand out and you get yourself in there quicker than other applicants and it saves them time having to go through all other candidates. This is not always a guarantee but it shows motivation. Hope this helps everyone and good luck in everything you pursue.
That’s IF you can find the hiring manager and even their contact information. Yesterday I tried to give feedback on an app . Nowhere on the internet is contact information given for recruitment. Not an email address, not a phone number. They don’t want to be contacted
If I can make a suggestion. Try to network with people in your trade. Also, why not try applying for jobs OUTSIDE THE USA. I capitalize this because there is a need for experienced people and those hungry for work in other countries. If I was a younger guy, I'd try to set up shop in Asia. I'd start with China and work my way down.
Also, I think it's short sighted if Chinese are not looking for integrate foreigners in their companies. We bring many insights and different perspectives culturally. It's a win-win for both.
Just my two cents! :)

That's because companies are posting ghost jobs. How that isn't illegal, I dont know, but it should be.
It's a strange period, but I beleive it's for the best fit to come . I'm reaching almost 150 applications all tailored with cover letter , emails, videos or whatever the recruiters ask these days but the conversion rate is bellow 3%. I started not even carrying about the refuses more than a no into me excel and keep hoping that the right ones will read my application and invite me to a decent interview and not ghost me after the practical one . The AI hype blocked everything because it's not that practical and people are overwhelmed but only a few speak about the fact that you're working a lot more to include AI into your work and not to be redundant. The marketing messages that are selling AI are quite far from the reality.
I am hearing that company's only advertising jobs for legal or reputational purposes and offering the job someone who is already working for them. I even had a phone call and had a feedback saying i was the one who fits the role perfectly but hiring manager wanted to carry on with internal application. I feel like why go through all this and get hope!
AI has to get data from somewhere.

the two "As" = AI and ageism are in full swing.
Are you using the ATS software? Jobscan has worked for me and enhanceCV platforms
I’ve had a similar experience since last November. Since then I’ve only gotten one interview. It’s rough out here
There is a lot of recycling of jobs on job aggregator websites and in my experience, applying to vacancies through these is often fruitless. It is better to use more focused websites linked to the industry/sector you want to work in, and also employer's own websites as some will advertise vacancies on these. I don't know if you are in the UK, but NHS Jobs is a good vacancy source (there are over 350 types of work in the NHS). Also, sites aimed at administrative roles include:- www.clearlysecretarialjobs.co.uk, www.office-angels.com, www.secrecruit.co.uk, www.clearlysecretarialjobs.co.uk, www.michaelpage.co.uk. Also, the site Charity Jobs has all sorts of vacancies including administrative ones, www.charityjob.co.uk. I found a very good article on LinkedIn that was highly critical of employers overuse of automatic scanning systems to scan CVs for key words, not least that they risk missing out on excellent applicants, simply because they don't use the right "speak". See:- https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/hidden-bias-ats-systems-how-great-candidates-being-unfairly-viljoen-r5taf#:~:text=Unintentional%20Discrimination%3A%20Here%27s%20the%20uncomfortable,the%20biases%20of%20the%20past

Those are all AI automated recruitment posts. Intelligent marketing search to collect all the resume details.
Have you used VMock? It help you get through the ATS system
We are at the opposite end - been trying to fill specific roles at our company and we can’t find any document control specialists ,competent solidworks drafters, or even a competent admin assistant. So where are all these highly skilled people looking for work?
Thank you for this. It's always been this way when I applied for jobs but what a slap in the face to deal with headhunters, bots, things that I have wasted a year of my life and my vision perusing.
You're caught in the typical 'Bermuda triangle of job hunters', whose average stats are 1 interview for 50 applications. Want to break out of this cycle? Stop applying to jobs online and start networking to make yourself known and discover the 70% of jobs that need to be filled but are never advertised, higher quality and for which there is much less competition
I’ve heard that having work history past 10 years bec it ages and dates
They're typically doing one of two things. Either they are trying to collect data to sell, or they are posting ghost jobs to make their company look like they are growing/doing well, but they have no intention of actually filling the position. I wouldn't put too much faith in applications on these mainstream job boards. Might have some more success on more niche job boards to directly applying to companies with open positions.
Same, It has me depressed. Im not even being picky, Im applying to everything and I usually get emails saying thank you, weve received so many resumes and weve decided to go with another candidate....
