Some companies are using AI as the first level of screening. What you might try is reading the job description and tailoring your resume to match the verbiage in the Job Requirements as posted. Meaning: If you have the skills that are required as mentioned in the Job Posting, make sure your resume lists those skills using the same verbiage as you see in the Job Requirements.. There are usually Key words AI is set up to look for.
Which is funny and ironic, because by using AI to look for candidates, recruiters are inadvertently turning themselves redundant by teaching the machine how to do their job :D
Yes a lot of places are using ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and AI resume screening tools for applications now to look for specific things in peoples resumes. But you can actually use AI’s like ChatGPT to help you get around this though or at least increase your chances of it choosing your resume to get through to an actual person.
Go to the AI you like best and ask it to help you make an AI-optimized resume, tell it the exact job title and employer (if you have one) or the type of job you’re applying for. Then share the job description or posting text (or just paste the important requirements/qualifications). If you have one already, provide your current resume (or if not then provide, at least, your experience, education, certifications, and skills in plain text). Finally, ask it to rewrite or restructure your resume so it:
1) Uses the keywords from the job posting (without keyword stuffing).
2) Matches the skills and qualifications the employer highlights.
3) Is ATS-friendly (simple formatting, no images/tables that confuse scanners).
4) Shows measurable impact (numbers, outcomes, improvements) where possible.
Jobs are the same way where I live right now and I think it’s like that all over the US right now honestly, but this is exactly what I did and on day 1 of my job search using my new AI-Optimized resume built from my original resume I applied to 10 jobs, by day 2 I had received texts, emails and calls from 9 out of the 10 places asking to set up an interview. Some of those texts were automated but with some of those I also received an additional 1-2 texts or emails (one automated and one from an actual recruiter or hr manager/director). All interviews I actually went through with setting up (I couldn’t go to all of them as quickly as they wanted me to) were real and wanted to see me within 1-2 days after I put in the initial application, on the same day as the interviews, I got multiple offers from those and was able to accept a job with one of them. I know how insanely hard it is for everyone to find jobs right now as I struggled for monthsss looking for one before I tried this (a professional resume maker told me what to do). So I’m posting this in no way shape or form to be “bragging” or anything like that, because as I said I also struggled for months and know it’s not easy, but in hoping this can help people secure a job as quickly as possible. It’s rough out here and we all need all the help we can get. I really hope this info helps somebody here out as much as it did me. Because it can’t be a coincidence that for months I had what was happening to you, happening to me, then on the first day of using this new resume to apply I get actual interview requests and job offers after those interviews from 90% of the places… that’s too much of a coincidence for me ignore. I can’t promise it will work for everyone or work that quickly, but it’s definitely worth trying, that’s what I told myself because atp what did I have to lose, right?
You need to network and work with recruiters. Don't apply.
Yeah, so am i, they said that some companies post fake jobs offers to make them self known in these jobs platforms.
I would suggest you start querying AI to really understand all the fake jobs here:
2. Estimates on “Fake” or Misleading Jobs
While it varies by source, several recruitment audits and studies suggest:
30–40% of listings on major job boards are not actively open.
10–20% may be significantly inaccurate or misleading.
Only about 50–60% of online postings represent real, currently available roles.
So, “most” might be an overstatement — but a large minority are indeed not real opportunities.
Yeah in this day and age, AI is taking over a lot of the earlier stages of the reviewing process, some even having ai interviewers. If your resume doesn’t have what the AI specifically wants you’ll be ignored, and even if you’re given someone human, you’ll likely be ghosted too, especially as a lot of applications are long gone, and have been left up, which means nobody will be checking if you apply. Job market is indeed rough right now
I understand. It is frustrating. There are a lot of ghost jobs - as high as 30%. Jobs that don't exist. If you see an opening, go to the company's website directly and see if the job is listed there. If it is, apply directly on their career site. This will give you a better chance of getting noticed. Also, ensure your resume has all the right keywords, phrases and ATS friendly format.
Same here wats the use of posting these jobs on different sites and no one reaching out to the application that have been applied for it don't make any sense 😕😕😕
95% of the time Hiring managers and Headhunters will not reach out to a candidate even if they have exceptional experience if they do not list what location they are looking to work in. Lots of candidates will post everything except their location, and hiring managers do no want to keep reaching out the potential candidate who are not even in their area.
I am right here with you. So frustrating.
Agree! Meanwhile, I asked Facebook what sites they use to find jobs that actually hired them and they all said Indeed! I've never been hired from Indeed, LinkedIn, not even Monster or CareerBuilder in their hay-day! I've gotten my last 3 jobs through a temp agency placement. And I've changed my resume up so many times and no hits yet.
Same me too !
Stop applying on those sites and go directly to the company website and apply.
Me too
My favorite is "We've decided to go in a different direction"
I have come to the conclusion that while many jobs advertised on platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, and Indeed appear to be ideal opportunities, applicants often face repeated rejection despite submitting numerous applications. This ongoing struggle raises the possibility that governments may need to step in by rethinking the role of privatization and ensuring that businesses serve the public interest. One solution could be the introduction of social contracts in which every citizen is guaranteed a basic income, regardless of employment status.
The current model of private property and free-market capitalism often fails to prioritize citizens’ well-being. People were led to believe that education would guarantee stability and that governments would safeguard the needs of all. Instead, rising unemployment is becoming a global crisis. To address this, governments must ensure that businesses do not place profits above humanity or the common good. If left unchecked, private corporations risk displacing governments as the true custodians of the social contract, while governments abandon their fundamental responsibility to protect and serve their citizens.
Tell me about it!
Same is happens to me...
Same - since June I’m trying to get a Job and nobody replied ….
I am having the same issue. I get a quick message reply that states "we have filled the position" but the position still remains open.
I reapplied yesterday to a job I was already interviewed for a couple months ago, meaning I AM qualified for the job, and within a couple hours of applying last night I got a return email saying I did not meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
How does that math? My qualifications have not changed at all lol I have 10yrs of experience, I’m definitely qualified to keep doing a job I’ve done for the last decade.
Man that is such a joke. I don't understand what companies are doing right now.
Most of those jobs or posted to
Make it look like they are hiring
Crazy economy right now
