Some companies are using AI as the first level of screening. What you might try is reading the job description and tailoring your resume to match the verbiage in the Job Requirements as posted. Meaning: If you have the skills that are required as mentioned in the Job Posting, make sure your resume lists those skills using the same verbiage as you see in the Job Requirements.. There are usually Key words AI is set up to look for.
Which is funny and ironic, because by using AI to look for candidates, recruiters are inadvertently turning themselves redundant by teaching the machine how to do their job :D
Yes a lot of places are using ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and AI resume screening tools for applications now to look for specific things in peoples resumes. But you can actually use AI’s like ChatGPT to help you get around this though or at least increase your chances of it choosing your resume to get through to an actual person.
Go to the AI you like best and ask it to help you make an AI-optimized resume, tell it the exact job title and employer (if you have one) or the type of job you’re applying for. Then share the job description or posting text (or just paste the important requirements/qualifications). If you have one already, provide your current resume (or if not then provide, at least, your experience, education, certifications, and skills in plain text). Finally, ask it to rewrite or restructure your resume so it:
1) Uses the keywords from the job posting (without keyword stuffing).
2) Matches the skills and qualifications the employer highlights.
3) Is ATS-friendly (simple formatting, no images/tables that confuse scanners).
4) Shows measurable impact (numbers, outcomes, improvements) where possible.
Jobs are the same way where I live right now and I think it’s like that all over the US right now honestly, but this is exactly what I did and on day 1 of my job search using my new AI-Optimized resume built from my original resume I applied to 10 jobs, by day 2 I had received texts, emails and calls from 9 out of the 10 places asking to set up an interview. Some of those texts were automated but with some of those I also received an additional 1-2 texts or emails (one automated and one from an actual recruiter or hr manager/director). All interviews I actually went through with setting up (I couldn’t go to all of them as quickly as they wanted me to) were real and wanted to see me within 1-2 days after I put in the initial application, on the same day as the interviews, I got multiple offers from those and was able to accept a job with one of them. I know how insanely hard it is for everyone to find jobs right now as I struggled for monthsss looking for one before I tried this (a professional resume maker told me what to do). So I’m posting this in no way shape or form to be “bragging” or anything like that, because as I said I also struggled for months and know it’s not easy, but in hoping this can help people secure a job as quickly as possible. It’s rough out here and we all need all the help we can get. I really hope this info helps somebody here out as much as it did me. Because it can’t be a coincidence that for months I had what was happening to you, happening to me, then on the first day of using this new resume to apply I get actual interview requests and job offers after those interviews from 90% of the places… that’s too much of a coincidence for me ignore. I can’t promise it will work for everyone or work that quickly, but it’s definitely worth trying, that’s what I told myself because atp what did I have to lose, right?
You need to network and work with recruiters. Don't apply.
I think also applying directly to the business that has the opportunity helps a lot. I know it has helped me.
I had submitted almost 500 online and going door to door. I hit every business in our community and not one person hired me so I do sympathize and understand.
A lot of lies, why do they feel the need to lie? Many gave no responses, received many rejection emails but, never, not once a phone call saying well we didn’t choose you but thank you for applying. Looking for employment was truly a full time, exhausting and stressful unpaid job. But as I was advised take a job until to you find the job you want and get hired.
With all that being said, this is where we build our own network to help each other find work. Tons of local people would like to avoid commercial pricing for local pricing. Ultimately some how the money we make needs to find its way into the market as well so we can get dividends paid back to also assist with this network dream/idea. I’m also on the financial freedom hunt. Something has to work.

I keep saying this -- simply applying to ads is NOT the most effective way to get a job.
In addition, if your resume is simply a copy-and-paste of your job descriptions over the years, and not any actual accomplishments, you're not going to stand out from the other hundreds of applicants. Your having years of "experience" in something is not relevant if you can't show how WELL you did your jobs, not just what you did in your jobs.
Perhaps there are agencies that specialize in medical admin work that you could connect with.

It depends on the role, but things such as:
- Reduced expenses by 12% by sourcing new vendors with better prices
- Reduced time of project completion by 10% by eliminating unnecessary steps in the processes
- Maintained the highest retention rate in the company (that's on my resume)
- Improved the cost of HRIS and Payroll systems by eliminating ADP's sun-set payroll product and instead implementing ADP's Workforce Now and current payroll system (also on my resume)
- Increased customer satisfaction ratings from 3.4 to 4.2 by implementing training for employees
Things like that allow for deeper questions in interviews as well, such as "what was the training you implemented?"
Hope that helps. And good luck to you being a federal employee; I know it's a really tough time for you all right now.
Same here 😬.
Avoid Ai at all cost. It's only a tool and only has the brain power man gave to it. Don't use it. Anyway, to answer your questions with what I think, 1. there are a lot of ghost jobs out there (I honestly do not understand why people do this to another human being. It's a sick and twisted thing to do to people who are doing everything they can to keep their homes, vehicle and families together). 2. The economy. I feel like you know it is NOT you so, I don't have to say that. However, I would like to encourage you to Keep On Keepin' On. Don't give up and Don't give in. Something will come to you.
Just be passionate about your Trade. My wife is Travel for AAA’s Admin Office in Costa Mesa. She switched from a W2 employee to a pure 1099 because she is passionate about her trade.
I actually have had some interviews.
5 in a month - BUT
1. I’m applying below my pay grade
2. One contract didn’t match the offer (lower pay, different hours, no SSP and other basics) and they turned around and said I’m being problematic after a 3 stage interview and pulled the contract
3. Someone commented about me having children at the end of an interview. Interview was great but they thought I wouldn’t focus at work because I have kids?
4. Someone upfront asked how long I would be staying and if I was going to have any more kids in the next 3 years because it will be very full on and can’t have someone go on leave before 2030 because of their plans
5. Video interviews. Hate it. 40 seconds to read a q and think of answers. 30 seconds for that answer. While staring at your own face wondering if you look professional or if the lighting is okay
I am not currently a job seeker because my current position isn’t going anywhere but up. I graduated from University back in 2012 as a Magna and I was bouncing around temporary agencies until 2017. Yeah these 5 years were enough experience to get me a job at the FAA (I already interned for SBA for 2 years so I was recommended in SADO).
That is employer's market now and, perhaps, forever. That's crazy, the applicants number is growing fast from month to month. That is a very sad signal for economics and for people.
yes and it's a New World Order. Watch the News!
I also had problems at first when applying to jobs from the same sources. I had AI spruce up my resume for every individual job I applied to. Then I contacted the recruiters that were linked to some of the jobs and provided them with my resume directly. That's how I got my job. I actually had two companies make me an offer a day apart and I was able to choose the one that I preferred and paid more. That recruiter lady still reaches out to me periodically to ask if I still like my job (it's been over a year and I love my job) and she is always asking me if I know of anyone looking for a job to refer to her. If you get in with the recruiting companies, you absolutely will get some interviews. Now the interview part is on you. If you don't get hired because you don't interview well, then nobody can really help you much there. You just need to practice interviewing with people you know and watch some YouTube videos on how to answer interview questions that are typical for your specific line of work.
I am very disappointed, I applied more than 100 jobs but I was denied, whereas I my qualification, experience matched with requirements,I do,nt understand what's going on.
Me as well. I have so much experience throughout the years for the jobs I apply for yet, I haven't gotten one single one to hire. Few call backs and promising sounding entertainers, but so far nothing.🤷🏽♂️
Same issue I have it.
it seems like an issue for everyone
I think there are some roles are for pooling or fake job posting. That is one of the challenges when applying those websites. Sooner or later, some functions of the department will be taken over by AI because it has no sick leave and vacation leave and no HMO provided to them.
I have applied more than 50 roles in my country, some I have gone to next steps but majority are rejections
I relate to this so much. I recently moved and spent time applying to jobs well before I moved to hopefully line something up. I started my application process back in June- Now we are approaching November and I’m still jobless. I’ve interviewed a handful of times and never hear back or I’m immediately denied based off my application alone. I’m well qualified for the jobs in which I’ve applied to and still nothing. In the last few months I’ve only been offered a single position and it was a non healthcare role- I went to the business to meet with HR, I was told I was overqualified and would be underpaid, so it didn’t make sense for me to take the position.
AI is taking over. This year alone I applied to several jobs & dealt with this. After a month of being unemployed and a few interviews I got my now job. Which I love. It's what & who you know that matters. Speak with people, print your resumes, apply for jobs your overqualified for, do odd jobs, work as a server, and revise your resume. It could be the wording on your resume.
