Take the new job, that’s a no brainer.
Use your PTO for paternity, most companies don’t provide it for one year, if at all
Take the new job. After the offer is formalized you can ask about paternity leave policy; just say you assumed you wouldn’t be eligible if asked why you didn’t bring it up sooner. If you ARE eligible you may have a year to use it; use it as late as possible. If you’re not eligible, well, you will be WFH anyway and much more chance to bond with the baby. The extra money will be sorely needed for daycare and other expenses going forward. You can take paternity leave with your second child if you have one. Also, you may be able to suss out the policy here on Fishbowl.
See if you can delay your start at the new company until after your paternity leave.
It's long due. And won't like to disclose at this point.
