In an industry where we’re often told to just ‘suck it up’ and keep grinding, I want to ask: What are you willing to fight for?

Whether it’s fair pay for overtime, more creative freedom, or a better work-life balance, what’s worth going to battle for in this business? What’s that one thing you refuse to compromise on?

Pay and work life balance 100%

Salary. I’ve been in this business long enough to know there will be times when I’ll need to work nights or weekends - I have pride in my work, so if I need to put in extra time ( my choice), I do.

Therefore, I want a salary high enough that I never have to feel like I’m underpaid for the hours I put in.

Any of the above… though I’m not sure “fight” is looking at it through the right lens… seems like it’s setting boundaries and knowing your priorities. I think it comes down to what is most important to you in the overall context of your life/long-term happiness, and what are you willing to sacrifice to achieve that?

Kind of like that maxim we tell clients of “good, fast, cheap. choose two.” You could say “pay, balance, famous work. Choose two.” And it’s ok if what’s important changes over the course of your career.

(This was one of the reasons i ended up going freelance btw , to have more control over those things… and there are times when its great and times when it’s not but at least i can look at it as what I chose got me here)

Fighting against your global holding company-owned agency is very optimistic. We are all so dependably expendable.

Hi! I’ve been approached by Securonix for a Sales Director role in NA. I know the field and their competitors. The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.

S1 audit at a midsize firm looking out of public accounting.. my biggest thing right now is having a better work life balance. I hate the busy season hours and just looking for a way out.
I’ve been looking into internal audit but i know that could be boring.. not sure what other fields would suit someone of my experience.

First year here in a quiet patch (following a very busy period). There have been a few days where I bill 0 hours, which I’m told isn’t worth worrying about in this quiet time. But how do you spend your time on days when you bill nothing? This is a major stress for me. Cheers!

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!
