Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

The more hats you wear; the less you get paid. I’m a generalist but have learned to focus on my core skills when interviewing, then expose my desire for variety once I’m in the door.
I’ve experienced this as well. I did some research for the geographic area & the different roles I performed and averaged them out. I found I needed a $15/hr raise. I presented the information as a professional report and was shocked when they agreed to the $10/hr raise. Numbers don’t lie. If you’re a valuable asset they will pay whatever they can to keep you. If they can’t afford it then that is up to you if you want to stay or find something that will pay you more.
Small company here too. Did learn recently I am underpaid. So you’re probably getting underpaid too.
