Talk with an Intuit recruiter. They run lots of hiring ads for the upcoming season. Scheduling is very flexible and the work is 100% remote. This upcoming season will be my 7th season with Intuit. It would enable you to have parent time while staying professionally connected… and earning a reasonable wage.
I agree with considering working for Intuit. You might also get hired by a CPA firm where you could work flexible hours and many remote hours.
Do you have a partner who can support you being a stay at home mom?
Yes, I do, but sometimes I feel guilty that it's just him working and I can't help out.
This is just my suggestion after working in tax for five years, but you should really consider going down some alternative path. If you do get another tax FT job, do you have a strong support system at home to help with your family? Toddler years are tough. In my experience, family thing ALWAYS pops up in the dead heat of busy season.
Happy to hear that you have solid support at home. It’s so crucial and this doesn’t get talked about often.
This time of waiting for a new opportunity might be a blessing in disguise. You now have more time with your child. As you know, the job market is pretty rough out there. If you keep applying, you can see what kind of opportunity comes your way. Then you can decide how that’ll impact your family and what the future might look like at your new firm. Wishing you all the best!
