Not as long as you don't push it too hard. I wouldn't keep pressing the issue if they said there was no flexibility, but I don't see anything wrong with asking the question. I just wouldn't count on them accommodating since flexible working arrangements are usually set at the company level and it's hard to get an exception made for you.
Thanks for these comments - agree I can ask about the policy once an offer is made but won’t push if it’s not in policy
It’s good to ask to set expectations but from my experience unless you have a medical issue or need accommodations usually the response I get is this is the policy and just like benefits it’s applied uniformly across the organization.
I would be hesitant if the entire company was in person and they made accommodations for me to be remote or hybrid a significant amount of time. Not only can they change their minds at any time but also I feel it will be hard to assimilate to the company culture and I will be forgotten about if everyone else is in person.
That’s true, thanks KPMG1
Ask/inquire about RTO expectations. Most "should" be hybrid but depends on each org. As large tech firms along with large fin firms require employee back in the office, going to full RTO (4 days) will be a trend going into 2026. For those fully remote, enjoy it while yall can.
True, guess the days of fully remote are coming to an end soon
It’s not a part of my negotiation. Either they offer it, or they don’t. With the RTO mandates, even if it was something I tried to get, who knows how long it might last.
Worth it to ask and see, but there’s no such thing as a guarantee anymore.
