Interview tomorrow. Does anyone have any go-to interview questions that potential employers like to be asked?

I like to ask - what advice would you give to someone jointing the company ? How would I best set myself up to be successful here? Open ended, gets them to picture you in the role, etc...

like

Know why you want to leave, what you can do for them, why should they pay you and be prepared to verify what you say you can do.

like

Tell me about yourself!

I do a ton of campus recruiting just seem genuinely interested and don't make up some bs questions you don't really care about at the end just because the Internet told you to. Ask something relevant to the conversation you just had with the interviewer or something you genuinely care about

like

Offers from all big 4. Teach me pls.

like

@C1 If you can read, re-read OP's question.

like

@d1 stop hating on @c1.... You're embarrassing all us @Deloitte

like

Also C1 does not have a clue!

Lol, tech monkey?

Why they personally chose the firm and their favorite project

Nope. But a monkey? You are a small man.

Oh I'm BIG baby!

You tech monkey!

Lol, D3 thanks for representing. But just chill

Ask about pipeline and culture. Also rattle off some numbers and dollars and couple that with a question. For example, I see you've made $10M in investments in digital in the last year. What sectors do you see that playing a big role?

^getting warmer

Here's the question to really ask: What kind of candidate would make your job easier?

Or, How can I help you meet your career role/objectives

Ey1 - not picking on you. But - as someone who does a decent amount of recruiting, questions like that bug me because it's like the person is trying to tell me something instead of asking a question. I may be in the minority on that one, but just my .02

FL peoples: I signed a lease for a new place to start May 1 as my current landlord sold the unit I'm in. Turns out, the buyer wants to keep renting the unit and asked if I want to stay. Of course I want to stay. My new lease hasn't started so I'm pretty sure I can easily back out. For the new lease, I'm still pending full approval from a condo association as I have to do an in person interview. I have paid first months rent in advance. Is there anyway to get that money back?

Just say NO, Sorry your skills are not a match, don't ignore. You were also candidates once.

Worse they say We'll check or get back to you. But never come back. Luckily I got selected into a tier-1 company and their Recruiter ignored me once 😂. I am gonna personally meet that recruiter on Day1.

I have been seeing all of these "studies" saying that many people prefer working in the office versus working from home... I'm doubting these results and want to conduct my own little poll.
Do you prefer:
A) Working from Home
B) Working from the Office
C) Hybrid

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

I’ve been working at a rather prestigious midsized firm in a big city for almost a year and a half now. I have been having a lot of trouble picking up work from senior partners. We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.

Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. Basically I feel like a token, and I don't know how to shift that idea while staying professional.
