As you can probably tell, you’d be hard-pressed to find ZSers who have bad things to say. It’s a fair point that you’ll get the most recognition in health care, but I was at dinner with a c-level exec at a top biotech and he emphasized that ZS is held in the same esteem as McK. We’d rather be the best in one thing than really good in a bunch of stuff
ZS6 is right.
Also, ZS6 is a good model name for a Japanese race car.
One other thing and I might get a lot of hate for this. We at ZS have very smart offshore resources. ZS’ hiring process at offshore is equally difficult as here in US (may be a bit less but still tougher than that of Accenture). So if you have to work with offshore, which you will have to most probably, then you will not have to worry about the quality.
Can’t say the same about ACN.
Looks like you’ve already accepted one of the offers if your title is “incoming consulting analyst” 🤔
If you’re coming into CDP as an analyst (MC/TC) do ZS. If you’re coming into ASADP (Strategy) do Accenture
Second this
We have good culture, good pay, good people, and interesting work.
But we do have more of that small office feel rather than giant corporation (which I prefer, but not everyone does), and most of our offices focus on life sciences, in case you're not into that
Also growth in pay over time is waaaaaay better than Acc even if starting is different 😜

Depends what you like. You like healthcare then pick ZS, you want anything else, pick ACN
Not knowledgeable about ZS at all, but I can say that working as an Accenture Analyst gives you a very wide range of opportunities, for better or for worse, due to its massive size and scope. I would push back on the age old stereotype of Accenture being an IT shop, as Accenture has diversified its offerings in recent years
Personally, I have enjoyed my time at Accenture as a first job out of college, since I have worked with amazing people who have become personal friends and have worked on a wide variety of projects spanning many industries and functions. The bureaucracy can feel restrictive after a few years though
ZS is more of an MBA house, so if that’s your ultimate goal, I think it’ll serve you better. Accenture of course has many more MBAs due to sheer size, but you’re less distinguished applying to b school.
Career-wise night and day. Giant publicly traded IT company vs niche healthcare marketing company. Both very good firms though.
Exit ops out of ACN are better unless maybe you only want to do healthcare. Starting pay is better too which is worth considering if you don’t plan to be in consulting for years and years. You are better off leaving anyway and coming back if consulting is something you really want to do.
I don’t work at either, but based on the perceptions of both, i think it depends what you want. If you want to build a career in tech implementation and dev, I’d recommend ACC. If you’re looking to gain more experience doing management consulting, I’d recommend ZS. Also, would highly recommend just going where you think you’ll have the most opportunity to stretch and grow. That’s the approach I took and it’s worked out great so far.
Which city?
Some cities are really strong and I would adjust my answer based on your response.
Also just depends what kind of work you’re looking for - if you’re looking for pharma sales/marketing work. That’s our bread and butter. We do work in other industries (PI, aka Priority Industries) but this is also dependent on your office
Which cities are strong? Which are...less-strong?
Seconding ZS2, every office has a great culture/good opportunities for advancement/great starting class camaraderie, but your experience really will vary by office. I work in one of the smaller, PI-focused offices and I can confirm it’s a radically different experience than the healthcare-heavy ones. It’s perfect for me because I’m not a fan of life sciences but YMMV.
Happy to talk more about my own experience via DM too of course
5 years at ACN. Met some great people there that I’m still friends with. Overall though it’s overrated and a shark tank
