Interviewed (1st round) at EY for an SC role (40% higher pay). Didn’t know SC was the same as C for Deloitte. Up for SC at Deloitte this summer - any room for negotiation with EY for M instead? Contd

Isn't the way this works is that you'll get minimal raises in New role and will be told that you're at the “top of the band" already?

like

As it doesn’t make sense to make a lateral move just for pay. @EY folks pls help

They probably won't give you M and make you join as SC for a year before promo. EY operates one promo cycle a year and assuming you join in the next few months you'll get it next October earliest.

Why is the pay 40% higher than D though

40 percent is pretty significant- assuming you won’t get that on promo at D? In which case, why take on more work, more stress and responsibilities, for less reward. Depends what matters most to you...

Assuming you’re quite young, 1 year additional in your jump to SC is nothing. Take the pay jump and use your energy you would put into SC to take on extra initiatives or learn new skills.

Just for curiosity, why C in Deloitte is the same as SC in EY? Is it for Salary band or why ? I received an offer from EY to M role (I’m currently SC at D.) but salary offered is the same as M role in Deloitte, so I do believe roles are equivalents

You are right Deloitte1, yes I believe I’ve been offer the highest end of M (or at least that’s what I was told), hope this is equivalent to Deloitte M. Good luck with your interview process and hope you manage to get an offer, either to change or to get better conditions at Deloitte

So glad I found this group! I’ve hopped through 3 jobs since graduating 2 years ago. They all start out great- I ace interviews, flourish creatively, and get super positive feedback from managers. Few months in, my interest begins to wane. Productivity dies off, and engagement in my work falls of the cliff. My work suffers and I end up quitting because I hate myself for not showing up when people are counting on me. Any advice?
