Hi Google - I am requesting guidance!
I am prepping for my interview specifically GCA and open ended questions. I struggle to tell if the outcome should be talking through your process/steps (maybe for a question like - how would you go about determining program complexity) vs a specific solution such as create x new product, for x market by x date based on my assumptions. Is the desired outcome something I can clarify with the interviewer?

My only guess is that there was someone even more qualified than you, even though you sound perfectly qualified. Both of those companies get a lot of interest which makes it so they can be extra selective. If I were you, I would go ahead and move. With your skill set in that area, I don’t think you’ll stay unemployed long.
Thanks D1. Thought so.
I am employed so, will be moving with my current employer. As the story goes, my current firm is not willing to increase my pay to bay area standards. So, was searching to move as a potential option to increase my pay.
Hey op what your background. I’m also interested in transitioning into FANG analytics from a big 4 data science role

Do you require visa sponsorship?
I guess so EY2. The lack of reason and feedback after the interview has been literally killing me. Google guy atleast called me and spoke to me while rejecting but Apple guy just ghosted me without any reasoning.
Visa sponsorship definitely could have played in the decision making, but I’ve also been in situations where I had one open role and we loved all the candidates, making the final decision very difficult.
I prefer to not say things like “you did a great job” in an interview because it can create a sense an offer is coming when we haven’t made a decision or perhaps even completed other interviews we’d committed to yet. If the individual doesn’t get an offer after being told that, the letdown is even greater, as unfortunately you’ve experienced.
I understand and I think most of us who interview a fair bit hit this occasionally. They definitely could have handled it better, but don’t overthink it and keep trying.

It’s an overall tough market given COVID and the recession, plus these are top notch companies that have their pick of candidates. Maybe move with your employer first and figure it out as you hit the ground ?
Yup Mck1, that's what I'm gonna do now. Move with the firm and switch later once I find a good opportunity.
