Literally every Big 4 does this. And in my experience they won’t budge. Best of luck
HA - fat chance they’ll actually stick to that. Don’t let their empty promises fool you and if you really want to come over I’d recommend you push for as high as you can on the salary front to something you’re happy with
I wouldn’t go to Deloitte or any of the B4 at a lower level if you are already a manager.
They tried to do that to me and the partner said it’s because we don’t wanna upset our homegrown talent. I was like your homegrown talents are already leaving in groups 😁
Don’t budge on the title ... what group are you joining
Yea, that’s a lie.
Deloitte did the same for me and pushed my promotion year by 2 years after I joined

Damn dude lol did you guys at least see better exit opps from moving to Deloitte?
I got the same spiel.. you can move up in one year, it’s now year 2... Deloitte is moving more towards number of years in a role vs performance..
Can someone explain the “exit ops materially change at manager” please? How do they change, other than a title bump? What’s the salary difference?

You can search many past posts on this - as someone who has worked at a few large consulting firms I can attest to the fact that a Manager elsewhere may not equal a Manager at D which is why they probably offered you a SC role. Most Manager hires from Accenture are also downgraded at Deloitte and this is pretty standard practice especially in tech hires.
This is a trick that they use to bring down salary expectation, and push for higher margin when staffing
I got this in interview too “would you consider coming in at level below” and I said if they pay me at level above I’d have no troubles. Didn’t progress.
That is what we in the biz like to refer to as a ‘lie’
“On the salary front” - this is a good point from Deloitte Digital, if your number is reasonable and within market they’ll meet it - but they’re not gonna budge on title
Consulting exit options materially change at the manager level and by entering at a lower level you postpone those opportunities by at least two years and Deloitte ain’t MBB to make enough difference to justify those two years
