Interviewing for an in-house role at Jefferies. Would appreciate any insight/real talk about Jefferies and/or inhouse roles at investment banks generally.

I’m an outside counsel and I work across them. Some of them can be really rude. Maybe it depends on a team.

I know this post is kinda old now. But I’m in-house and dealing with Jefferies on the other side of a deal, and holy shit — dealt with one of the nastiest lawyers I’ve ever come across (and I’m in NYC working in PE / investment management, so I’ve experienced my fair share…)

Got offered the role and declined. Really liked the people, but the major deciding factors for me were type of work and comp. Happy to share more details over DM.

I think they use Hireright as their 3rd part agency but not sure.
i would really appreciate your help.

I have my annual review coming up and want to hear thoughts on what a reasonable raise expectation is. I report to the COO and currently make $94k + up to 10% annual bonus based on company hitting their revenue goal + I have 3000 stock options. I have 3 YOE in customer success but pivoted to a non technical program manager role at a series c tech startup last September. I have been getting consistently positive feedback at quarterly reviews. What raise should I aim for?

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!
