Which one would you want to do? Which one pays more? How can any of us say without knowing the details, the expectations and roles can differ for those positions depending on the company. And also would depend if you enjoyed who you interviewed with and think the company "culture" would be a good fit. Are they remote hybrid onsite, etc. Lol..

Yes that was kinda a broad question. Thanks for sharing those factors helping me to think! My primary focus would be the career progression and the work life balance. Salaries would be a factor in the long run but now want to focus on the work itself, whether it’s bringing career returns compared to the amount of efforts put in, etc. All of them are roles in mid sized companies. I would appreciate if any professionals would like to share the pros and cons for those roles

I was rejected for a strategy role at an advertising agency after 8 interviews because they felt I needed more agency experience. I’m in my 1st job post-undergrad doing in-house comms/mktg and currently getting my masters in Ad/PR. I’m dying to be in an agency setting. Does anyone have recommendations on how to showcase my skills, or build out “agency skills” while not being in an agency?

Staying at the Ritz and STR in the Maldives so expecting good service and reading mixed things about tipping. I usually don’t tip much at hotels (never really thought about it) but what do people do? Is there an expectation and would the amount be based on like room rate or just a flat daily per day?

Thoughts on the proposed JetBlue -Spirit Merger?

I used to be a big fan of Jetblue(nyc based), but lately I feel like the airline is just as bad as the low cost ones. Old aircrafts, canceled and delayed flights. I can see why it’s important for JetBlue to have this merger for their relevance in this field.

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. Suggestions?

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
