Question for folks in here who work at a company with unlimited PTO/vacation - how do you manage this from being abused by employees?

So I am currently a potential candidate as an AAE. I was told that I would in the future have to prepare a mock deck and deal with objections.

Is this a good deal or not. $93,600/year” “BENEFITS “ medical, dental, vision(30%60%90% after CYD) 80hrs vacation time after 1year of employment, it cannot be carried over year to year, nor will it be paid for it upon termination same for sick time which will be granted after 90 days of employment. Max 240 hours. Paid for the 6 holidays but if happen to work holidays will get paid 8 hrs for another day off during the same pay period. No 401k

Any advice for presenting somebody else’s work? I’ve been stretched thin on different projects but have to present in place of some of on vacation with little time to prepare.

I had an interview the week before Christmas and New Years. I know there is usually a holiday slump - when should I reach out about an update? It will be 3 weeks tomorrow.

A couples years ago when I was at 1 of the B4 firms I went on vacation and my backpack (laptop and all) got stolen. I filed a police report etc. A couple months later I got a large package in the mail

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

How would you feel going on vacation with friends who want to bring their kid along too?

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
