In some companies, it’s not standard at all. When I worked in BofA, there was no yearly bonus in my dept.
Pro
Oh wow that’s not good at all!
Well, we get a year end bonus, instead of a "Christmas" bonus. But I think yearly bonuses are pretty normal for this space.
Pro
Yeah I feel like it is a common thing so definitely a bit of a downer if you don’t get one!
Bonus always paid in q1 for me
Pro
Oh interesting! That’s quite nice I bet
I haven't seen a bonus (Christmas or otherwise) in 20 years.
Pro
Oh wow sorry to hear that! Hopefully you get others though!
A lot of firms provide a holiday bonus, and in some areas the bonus can be pretty substantial. I never got a huge one, but I've gotten ones that were appreciated nonetheless. I don't recall seeing companies advertise that they offer a holiday bonus, but as bonuses seem to have become less common perhaps they want to call attention to it.
Pro
Yeah I’ve never had a huge one but would greatly appreciate one ahahaha
Pro
I’ve never worked at a company that does them, but I have many peers who have. I think it just depends on the company.
Pro
Yeah for sure!
Actual Christmas bonus is rare for example I got to Fidelity in 2022 and got my first Christmas bonus last December
Pro
Well at least you’re getting them now!
Always a positive
