Is an MBA still worth it if I’m already at EM/PM level at a T2?

Unless you’re sponsored, want to trade up to MBB or go into IB no. You’ll feel like you took a step back and most of your peers won’t have people mgmt experience and trying to go to the job you have now.

If you want MBB you can go experienced hire route without an MBA and if you want to be a career consultant stay at your firm. If you want to exit, network.

I’m a current T10 MBA student and often regret going. Pre-MBA I was making $180k, was a manager in a late stage startup and prior to that was a B4 consultant. There are some benefits I’ve realized (expanded network) but as of now I feel like I would’ve be been better off staying in the market and getting more experience

1. Speaker series: tons of alumni from interesting / aspirational roles coming to campus for intimate conversations

2. Decompress: step away from the consulting bubble and reassess what you want to do next

3. Exploration: explore new internship opportunities (summer and in-semester), of course this is dependent on if you land something worthwhile. This isn’t always guaranteed and more so the case as of my recent observation of classmates

4. Travel: if that’s your thing

5. Party: if that’s your thing

PT or Exec MBA at an M7 sounds more up your alley. Classmates are more mature, more senior, and may still use the opportunity to pivot or create joint ventures. Same degree, same diploma, but the target of the students are more senior roles.

Context: I’m in an M7 EMBA, a bit younger (early thirties), and chose this path. I was already a people manager and could plausibly transition into MBB without an MBA.

Seeking ideas for boosting morale in an office. What activities or rituals do you implement that are appreciated by your staff? We do lunch almost once a month and even that feels forced. Some staff don’t interact with others because they are just introverted (not for any other reason). The team seems to open up when we play ice breaker questions but I’m losing my creativity with interesting questions. Looking for more ideas.

$530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?

Hello! Anyone working for UBS in Switzerland? Are you allowed to work from abroad few days a year? Thank you!

I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom, Idk if I’m crazy to feel that way bc of a dog but I used to be able to control this and put up a front but now my depression and anxiety are starting to leak into my work conversations completely unintentionally, I wish this would stop :(
